Position: Metal Fabricator
Job description
Ottawa Valley Metal Inc is looking for Custom Fabrication Technicians specialize in the design and fabrication of sheet metal pieces which cannot be bent in a break forming machine and/or require further inputs to complete. They may be required different tools and machinery to achieve final specifications of the customers.

Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble metal products according to customer specifications using various tools and equipment
- Read and interpret drawings and diagrams
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Ensure proper packaging of finished orders for picking or shipping
- Assist customers and/or sales team in designing/costing of custom pieces according to capabilities
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Skills:
At OVM, we are happy to provide full training!
- Use basic math skills to calculate imperial measurements and dimension
- Attention to detail
- Experience with power and hand tools an asset
- A forklift license is not required but an asset. Training can be provided by OVM.
Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
- Handle sheet metal sheets up to 4ft by 10ft
- Ability to lift metal bundles up to 10ft long and up to 80 lbs safely
- May be asked to load/unload customers into truck boxes and trailers
- PPE (Ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, etc.) provided by Ottawa Valley Metal Inc.
- Overtime and weekend shifts may be asked of the operator during peak season upon particularly busy periods.
