Position: Delivery Driver

Job description

Ottawa Valley Metal Inc is looking for drivers to deliver metal flashings & accessories to job sites within the Ottawa/Gatineau region.

Qualifications:

• Valid G Class Driver License
• Driver’s Abstract

Responsibilities:

• Verify all materials and accessories are loaded according to drop schedule
• Deliver all orders provided by fleet manager within delivery time frame
• Conduct circle checks upon every entry of vehicle and complete electronic logging device
• Handle materials safely and properly when loading and unloading
• Ensure material is dropped off in a safe location and documented
• Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner

Skills:

At OVM, we are happy to provide full training!

• Able to work well independently
• Experience driving Pickup trucks and trailers an asset
• A forklift license is not required but an asset. Training can be provided by OVM.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:

• Drivers are required to lift metal bundles up to 10ft and up to 80 lbs to load/unload into truck boxes and trailers safely, repeatedly throughout the day.
• Drivers will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures when working outdoors.
• Certain commercial construction sites may require PPE to protect the head, eyes and ears. PPE provided by Ottawa Valley Metal Inc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
